The diverse group of people who identify as Latino in Pennsylvania are celebrating their common heritage Sept. 15-Oct 15 this year, and they have a lot to celebrate. Pennsylvania now has 1.1 million Latinos, and their numbers are growing. They include Brown and Black people from throughout Latin America, Central America, and the Caribbean. They are having a profound and positive impact on every aspect of Pennsylvania life, from politics to business to culture to food. Events throughout the state, including the recent Hispanic Heritage Festival in Harrisburg, are designed to unite the Latino community and revel in their common bonds of language and traditions.
